Sunstar approached CHOI to design a new 2 in 1 flosser to add to their portfolio of industry leading oral hygiene products. This flosser needed to be easier to use, providing less strain on hands and wrist while allowing greater access to hard to reach back teeth, a major struggle for users with dexterity issues

Beginning with sketches we landed on a new dual flosser concept which can be rotated in one hand, allowing users to access hard to reach places from different angles and using a different thickness of floss on either side. The divot in the center provides a grip point and allows for stacking in the package.
We created hundreds of hands on prototypes to test usability and narrow down to the best variation. With both clay and 3D printing we were able to improve ergonomics and aesthetics while ensuring our concept stood out from the competition in both user experience and styling.
Once we settled on the right design we needed to make sure the product would stand out as superior on the shelves with an eye catching package design. Through research, retail store visits, and competitive market trend analysis we designed various different routes to a successful product launch.
