Charles Choi founded CHOI Design Group (CDG) in 1994 with a vision to fuse design innovation with strategic business growth. Based in the Chicago suburb of Mt. Prospect, CDG quickly earned a reputation as a forward-thinking consultancy, delivering impactful product design across a range of industries.

With early career experience at leading companies such as Baxter and Weber, Charles brought a strong foundation in industrial design and user-centered development to his own firm. Under his leadership, CDG has helped clients like Weber Inc. achieve sustained product success, while expanding its influence nationally and internationally. Charles remains actively involved in the studio’s creative direction and strategic planning, guiding projects in categories including outdoor cooking equipment, housewares, hardware, and medical devices. His practical approach to design blends innovation with real-world usability and market awareness.

Before launching CDG, Charles held key positions at design consultancies across the U.S. and served as Industrial Design Manager at INNO Design with offices in both Silicon Valley and Seoul. There, he led projects for global brands such as Samsung, LG, Hyundai, and Daewoo. With over 30 years of experience, Charles continues to drive CDG’s mission of delivering smart, timeless, and effective design solutions.
